Pampa Rugs

i have been receiving Pampa’s newsletter for the better part of a year, but am yet to blog about them – time to remedy that! Pampa was co-founded by photographers Victoria Aguirre from Argentina and Carl Wilson from Australia, who source handwoven products directly from the hands of indigenous Argentinian weavers.

Every year we explore some of Argentina’s most remote indigenous communities, always with a camera in hand to document the journey. On our travels we seek-out the finest rugs and cushions that have been handwoven using traditional materials, designs and techniques by some of Argentina’s most talented artisans, bringing them back across the world from their homes to yours.

Earning a fair wage has enabled Pampa’s weavers to form their own co-operatives, giving individuals the added benefit of sharing materials, ideas and work loads. This flexibility means that the weavers can work from their homes and villages, eliminating the need to travel long distances to sell their rugs or find alternate employment in big cities.

Argentina looks like a beautiful place, it’s now on my travel list. also: those alpacas just kill. me. you can peruse their beautiful rugs, throws, cushions and photographic prints at their online store and various Aussie stockists.

Really nice to see a part of Argentina’s culture here, the north of the country is really breathtaking (Jujuy, Salta, Tucumán), in the south (Patagonia) you’ll find the opposite landscape, mountains, forest, snow and glaciers, but equally amazing, if you have the chance to visit us you won’t regret :)

Wooowww my beauty Argentina! I love my country :)
Maira is right, Patagonia is beautifull! You should know Ushuaia, Bariloche, SAN MARTIN DE LOS ANDES! If you search in google Dustin Luke you’ll see, he is traveling around Argentina, he is from EEUU and he show a lot of places of here! I am proud of my country :)

Gorgeous rugs. I love every design and I will definitely order some of these pieces in the next few weeks. I always try to support authentic artisans and spread the word about their work.
