most of my “time-wasting” surfing activities (i.e. browsing Pinterest while in bed, on the couch, in the bath, on the bus…) revolves around our new house. searching for inspiration for kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms… nurseries. it’s all pie in the sky kind of browsing for the moment, but isn’t it always like that on Pinterest? anyway a lot of the interior stuff i’m seeing, and pinning, is super samey. the more you browse the clearer the trends are year by year.
which is why i love the refreshingly different interior & styling of Chez Marie Sixtine, an apartment located above the 11th arrondissement boutique of French fashion label Marie Sixtine. no one lives there – it’s made for guests of Marie Sixtine (privileged clients, journalists, personalities…) who can take refuge for the night, or just use it for meetings, workshops, personal shopping. dreamy.
Tucked away above the shop at 5 rue de Charonne, this Parisian cocoon is exclusively open to Marie-Sixtine’s special guests. “Chez Marie-Sixtine” is the ideal apartment for the Marie-Sixtine woman, where this fashion label’s entire universe is reincarnated in one unique space.

Pinterest is awesome- but it’s too good at predicting your taste- where you are so inundated with similar images tags you think the whole world is covered in subway tile and white walls and sheepskins and black taps… ;) it’s nice to find (and be inspired by) difference. That color palette and that wallpaper is AMAZING.
TOTALLY. that’s why i try to follow people who are pretty different from (and cooler than) me.
I saw this place in a magazine somewhere – I love it!! And yes, these days Pintrest is so same-y. I really struggle to find anything slightly different. It’s a shame, as I was really enjoying it up until recently (I came to Pintrest very late :))
Haha, I’m such a novice I don’t even know how to spell it ;)
WOW. I am so inspired. Thank you for pulling this to share.
So incredible, and the colour palette is so soft and pleasing :)
Gorgeous space! Love the mix of textures and colors. So tranquil and modern and charming all at the same time. I want to learn to knit just so I can make that cozy chair cover for that Eames chair! (or, er, my fake Eames)
It IS lovely! And yes, so many things are samey-samey, personally I am so sick of seeing black and white nurseries!
Thanks for the tip….it’s on my street and I didn’t even know about it!
The styling reminds me a little of Clarisse Demory…

Where of where can I get that knit chair cover?
Hello Pnewman, the knit chair cover was made by Atelier Whole for Marie-Sixtine, you can contact them here : http://www.whole.fr/contactez-nous/
Ha too true, this is so beautiful! I am obsessed with Pinterest, but lately I’ve been trying to put some of the pinned ideas into the real world…I was finding myself a bit stuck, pinning and getting inspired but not creating and making.

YAAAAZZZ! This is the most refreshing, intriguing interior I’ve seen in a while!! Love the absolutely dreamy neon cloud piece against that gorg wallpaper. Thanks so much for sharing!!
Completely in love with this apartment, above all, the wallpaper.
Is there any way of knowing where to find it? I looked for it in many Designers Guild catalogues and nothing like that.
I would really apreciate the tip.
Thanks and thanks for your Great Blog
Hello Patricia. In fact it’s not a wall paper : it’s a unique painting designed for Marie-Sixtine :)
Agree 100% that Pinterest has started to look like a sea of the same, which is why I love blogs like this! I find so much inspiration from your pages for my interior design clients. This apartment is to die for. such a great mix of colors and amazing design ideas that are definitely outside the usual box.
Thanks for a gorgeous blog! I think you might like what I’m doing at Life’s Too Short for Beige. http://lifestooshortforbeige.com…lots of great inspiration and ideas that are definitely not the typical designs you see these days.

Hi! Beautiful apartment! I especially love the painting on the bedroom wall and the kitchen countertop! I’d really appreciate if you could tell me what material it is – perhaps I could use it when remodeling our kitchen :)
