When I saw this colourful kitchen transformation by Johannesburg based Arrange Studio i felt like I had to share it, if only because it might make someone as happy as it did me. We all need some cheer right now, don’t we?
Arrange Studio were tasked to transform the space by Jayne Crawshay-Hall and Michael Robertson for their home in Parkhurst, Johannesburg. The colour-loving ccouple’s brief was “the bolder and crazier the colour use, the better”. Interior designer Roxanne from Arrange Studio shed a bit more light on the project:
The clients really loved the old steel cabinets that came with the house when they bought it, and wanted to keep them, so we had them refurbished and resprayed. The budget was very tight so we had to work hard to make sure we only spent where it really counted, but in that way I feel the bold use of colour actually gave them a lot of bang for their buck. In the kitchen, the addition of an L-shaped island gave them some much needed storage, counter space & additional seating, perfect for having company while cooking, making coffee or sending a few mails.
Such a great transformation while keeping the integrity of the house’s original features – I love those steel cabinets. You can follow Arrange Studio on Instagram to see more of their work. You can see more before and afters of Jayne and Michael’s home at Michael’s instagram page.
