When last were you in an art museum? I’m sitting in a cold and rainy Cape Town right now, observing parts of the US and Europe hopefully reaching the tail-end of the pandemic and starting to open up as their summer approaches. All I can think about is the same happening for us, and possibly going on holiday somewhere. Not to enjoy sunshine and beaches, oh no, but to visit a museum. All I want is to spend an entire day walking through the Musee d’Orsay or The Met or… any art museum, really. I’ll take it.
Armchair art browsing will have to do for now. and one of my favourite recent discoveries is local artist Marolize Southwood whose bright & colourful impasto paintings make me really happy (she is also a talented baker!)
