When last did you stay in a hotel? For many of us it’s probably been a loooooooooong time. We had a trip planned to Paris exactly a year ago, and about a month before the first lockdown, as the pandemic just began unfolding, we thought to ourselves, “do you think we could still go?” Oh how naive we were.
I’m not sure when we’ll be able to travel overseas again, for now we can only explore locally (which is also fine, South Africa is amazing). But I have so many places on my international travel list. I must admit that Newport, Rhode Island was never one of them – but I might go there just to stay in the Wayfinder Hotel which looks so cool.
It was designed by Reunion Goods & Services, a multi-disciplinary design studio based in NYC that mixes architecture, interior, design and branding. I think I love it because it doesn’t feel like a hotel – it just seems like a really cool person’s house.
The Wayfinder is a new boutique hotel created by a group of local chefs, bartenders, artists, designers, and entrepreneurs who are proud to call Newport, RI home. A shared passion project, we’ve banded together to create a fresh take on the traditional Newport hotel experience.
