You’re going to laugh when I tell you how I discovered Mokuyobi. My kids were watching the new Blippi series on Netflix (props to Blippi for selling his show to Netflix and then getting someone else to play him). Anyway, in one episode he visits the LA based store of Mokuyobi, whose fun bags and accessories immediately caught my eye.
Designer Julie Pinzur founded the brand in 2006. She has been sewing and constructing bags for two decades and finds joy in designing all of the bags and sewing all of our bag samples. The strong and direct connection we have to creating our products is what makes Mokuyobi special.
At the moment I’m in a serious waistbag phase (or fanny bags, as the Americans call them), wearing one crossbody is the easiest way to go handsfree when I’m out and about with two kids and our puppy. They make them in assorted rainbow colours, solid colours and even fun fruit shaped ones.
They have a store in LA and an online shop. Follow them on Instagram.
