if there’s one thing we have been chatting about a lot amongst our friends and family lately, it’s artificial intelligence. specifically the ability to create images and write text and just about everything else using online AI bots – tools that are suddenly available to regular people. i have been playing around with writing copy on ChatGBT and generating images on Midjourney. it’s mind-blowing and kinda scary to be honest. i’ve only dipped my pinky toe in (and don’t really know what i’m doing) but there are plenty of people out there creating awesome art and imagery.
one such account is The Latchkey Kidds, who i discovered on Instagram recently. Ren is a photographer from Montreal who creates nostalgic vignettes featuring 80s-era kids (not real kids!) and sweet little monsters – think in the style of ET or the Goonies. she uses Midjourney and Photoshop to create her digital art, and sells prints of her creations, too.
