Since we now have two dogs that need regular exercise, and our kids live so close to school that we walk back and forth all day, I find myself walking a LOT and easily clock in well over 10k steps per day. This is not a hard and fast rule or something I am trying to achieve, it’s just come about from our lifestyle – and I love it because it makes me feel good and consequently my jeans are also fitting well.

But sometimes you want to do an exercise walk and actually break a sweat, and for this I find the only thing that helps is a workout music mix that is the exact BPM that will get you trotting like an olympic power walker. I had to make my own one, of course, because I don’t like a lot of the generic workout mixes that Spotify pushes into our algorithms (enough EDM, please). It needs to be punchy, a bit disco, a bit more femme focussed.

Here it is, a workout mix. This would work well for running too, but alas I don’t run (my knees!). It also works REALLY well for cleaning the house! I do tweak it occasionally and also add new songs whenever the mood strikes. What’s your favourite workout song??
