when i first saw some of these images from the new campaign for the Metropolis collection by Levi’s Vintage Clothing i thought, wow these are some great vintage shots. then i looked more carefully. mmm, those construction workers are awfully good looking. and they are very sharply dressed while building those skyscrapers. nice one, Levis – you did a great job in almost tricking this vintage photo lover.
Levi’s Vintage
Clothing was inspired by those who made the modern American skyline. In the 1930s, with the completion of the Chrysler and Empire State buildings and the Futurama Exhibit at New York’s World Fair, the United States was presented with a tangible model for the future. Traveling far and wide to work on these projects, people always made sure to bring their Levi‘s with them to build the new Metropolis. This season we paid tribute to the visionaries who dreamed up with cityscapes and the hardworking men and women who made them a reality.
i’ve never really been one for dressing up in super vintage inspired wear, though i do think that vintage style workwear looks awesome on men (my husband has a couple of pairs of jeans and jackets that would fit into this category). i would, however, definitely wear this bad-ass leather jacket and their wonderful cable crew sweater. you can see the entire collection here.
